Be Kind to Yourself!
Hello beautiful souls,
Do you ever have one of those days when you are lacking in inspiration, get-up-and-go and creativity? Sure, you do; we all do! But do you ever have one of those days when you need to be inspiring, creative and full of energy, but you are not?
I could give you the bombastic life coach advice which really boils down to, ‘Come on, get up, you can do it.’ I could give you, ‘7 Steps to Get-up-and-Go!’ These enthusiastic, ‘kick up the butt’ approaches are great, but I am going to go another way.
How about, ‘No.’ How about recognising that you are not full of vigour and creative or inspiring ideas, and turn your attention to mundane tasks that need doing. Do the boring jobs, the ones you can do without thinking or having to grab anyone else’s attention; do the easy jobs on your to-do list. Allow your mind to have a rest and take some time to just plod along without having to be impressive.
Of course, sometimes this is when inspiration strikes and if that is so, feel free to change tack and leap over to your creative projects. However, the main benefit of my advice is not this, I am not trying to get you to trick your sub-conscious into re-booting. I am advising you to recognise the natural rhythm of you, your mind, body and soul, and to allow yourself to go with it.
Recognise the times when you are sparkling and ready to be amazing and inspiring, and the times when you are needing to rest and re-charge. Go with your natural flow, with kindness and understanding. Your tasks will get done more efficiently if done in the right frame of mind and you will feel peaceful, and without self-resentment.
There is a natural rhythm in the seasons of nature; times for growing and times for letting go and consolidating. If you acknowledge your internal energy and mood levels you will have the right fuel at the right time for the tasks in hand. You will move through your days with less stress and more joy.
Be kind to yourself and fall into your balance today. Right now, I am off to empty the washing machine and potter about catching up with my admin.!
I love you, humanity
Love, Eve
