Focus on the Positive Things in your Life!
Hello beautiful souls,
I am feeling rather ‘Pollyanna’ today and so the concept of focussing on the positive seems a natural point of discussion. Generally, it seems an accepted idea that being optimistic rather than pessimistic is a healthier, happier way to live. Largely because you have the stress-free period of waiting for whatever you are hoping to be true to happen rather than worrying it will not. On a simple level, if you are wondering if you have missed the bus that you raced up the hill to catch, it is much more pleasant to assume you did not and it will be along any moment rather than thinking you ran for nothing and now have 25 minutes to wait; it doesn’t change the outcome of course but it is more comfortable in that moment to think positively. On a bigger scale, those of us who have a more, ‘My glass is half full!’ mindset tend to be happier than those of us who consider our glass to be ‘half empty.’
So, bearing this in mind, whether you normally subscribe to optimism or not, today I invite you to focus on the positive in your life in order to make your day better. Many of us wish for things to change in our life; have great ideas, manifest or dream that they will come true, take action and see life changes happen in reality. Often it is not exactly what we had planned, or for some of us, everything we hope to change seems to be taking a long time to actually shift. However, if you focus on what positive things have changed over a given time period you will be amazed at how your life is moving forward gradually without you even noticing. Things you take for granted now may have been on your ‘wish list’ 5 years ago; or even out of your realm of consideration because you just never thought these things could happen to you.
If I think about how much my life has changed for the better in the last few years, I am quite astonished. Sure, I work hard and I love what I do, so one might expect some success from this natural input; but things have progressed in so many ways large and small that in noting them, even I, a naturally optimistic person, am surprised. So, take some time today to think about the positive ways in which your life has improved – dismiss the negative aspects for this thought process- and just relish all the good stuff big and small…….…. Feeling better already?
Would you like to know how to focus on the positive things in your life without allowing negative thoughts to interfere with your moving forward? Once you are able to have this optimistic outlook there are other longer-term benefits too which we will discuss next time!
Have a positive day lovely people,
I love you, humanity.
Love,
Eve x
